American Visions III Exhibit at WCCCD’s Northwest Campus Features Works From Acclaimed Artists from Private Collectors
Featured Artists Include Bill Sanders, Shirley Woodson, Taurus Burns, Paul Curtis, Habacuc Bessiake, Mandisa Smith, M. Saffell Gardner, Senghor Reid, Gilda Snowden, Jocelyn Rainey, and More
The exhibit is the third of a three-part series that features work from nationally celebrated
artists on loan from noted metro Detroiters’ private collections.
Works created by renowned artists such as Bill Sanders, Shirley Woodson, Taurus Burns, Paul Curtis, Habacuc Bessiake, Mandisa Smith, M. Saffell Gardner, Senghor Reid, Gilda Snowden, Jocelyn Rainey, and other noted artists will be on display – in many cases for the first time to the public.
The first and second series of celebrated artwork from private collectors was featured in exhibits in late 2022. This exhibit, the third in the series, will feature artwork from the private collections of John Bolden, Paul and Daphne Means Curtis, Sharon Gamblin, James and Shirley Jackson, Dr. Jocelyn Rainey, Robert Sims, Matthew Daniel, and Barbara Wynder.
The reception and exhibit are open to the public at no cost. The exhibit will remain on view through April 30, 2025, and is open during regular gallery hours: Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wayne County Airport Authority Boards Appoints Chancellor Curtis L. Ivery Chairperson
Wayne County Community College District Chancellor Dr. Curtis L. Ivery has been appointed Chairperson of the Wayne County Airport Authority (WCAA) Board. Ivery was appointed to the seven-member independent board by Wayne County Executive Warren Evans in 2020.
